AUSMAR is proud to announce a significant milestone in the construction of Wishlist House Gympie – our fourth charity house project in partnership with Wishlist Sunshine Coast Health Foundation. The four-bedroom house has reached the lock-up stage, signifying halfway completion and bringing us a step closer to supporting Gympie Hospital patients.
Building a Brighter Future for Gympie
Once finished, Wishlist House Gympie will be sold by One Agency Gympie. Proceeds from the sale will fund a crucial new service for the Gympie community: a Patient Transport Service. This free service, starting in the new financial year, will operate five days a week, transporting Gympie Hospital patients to specialist appointments at Sunshine Coast University Hospital and Nambour Hospital.
“The halfway mark of Wishlist House Gympie construction is a momentous achievement for our community,” says Lisa Rowe, CEO of Wishlist. “We are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support we’ve received from our award-winning builders AUSMAR, along with all the dedicated tradies and suppliers who have made this possible.”
A Collaborative Effort
AUSMAR Director Tony Bryan has been a driving force behind all four Wishlist house builds. “Reaching halfway is a testament to the dedication and generosity of countless individuals, businesses, and organizations,” says Tony. “We’re thankful to QEBS, Stoddarts, Steeline Frames and Trusses, Preferred Plaster, Reece Plumbing, Dowell Windows, Temper Troops, Format Kitchens, Sunshine Mitre 10, and National Tiles, just to name a few.”
The collaborative spirit extends beyond AUSMAR. “We get involved with Wishlist projects because they benefit our community,” says Daryn Fissenden, CV Services Housing Manager. “These projects are built by local builders and tradespeople, fostering a strong sense of community pride. It’s also a great team-building exercise for our staff – a chance to get hands-on and contribute directly.”
Sharing the Vision
Reece Plumbing Gympie Branch Manager Kent McKeon echoes this sentiment. “We at Reece Gympie are honored to be part of Wishlist House Gympie,” says Kent. “We admire Wishlist’s dedication to those in need and are proud to offer our support.”
Looking Ahead
With cabinetry installation underway thanks to Format Kitchens, internal fit-out progressing with Sunshine Mitre 10, and internal tiles arriving from National Tiles, the project is on track for completion. Landscaping and fencing remain, and AUSMAR is seeking a qualified landscaper and fencer to complete the picture.
The house is expected to hit the market in July, with an Open Home event planned for July 27th. Stay tuned for further updates!
Together, AUSMAR, Wishlist, and our community partners are building hope for Gympie Hospital patients.
