How AUSMAR Have Continued Building Sunshine Coast Excellence Since 1993

Founded in 1993 by John Martin, AUSMAR has established itself as a leading homebuilder in South East Queensland. With a focus on quality craftsmanship, innovative design, and customer satisfaction, AUSMAR has earned numerous accolades and built a strong reputation in the industry. 1993 – 2010

1993-2000: Humble Beginnings and Expansion AUSMAR started as a small business operating from the home of its founders, John and his wife. Initially serving the Noosa-Cooroy market, AUSMAR gained recognition for its custom-designed homes and commitment to quality. By the year 2000, the company had grown significantly, necessitating a move to a larger office space in Cooroy. With just four staff members, AUSMAR managed to complete 15 homes per year during this period.

2002-2005: New Leadership and Partnership In 2002, Tony Bryan joined AUSMAR as a supervisor and quickly rose to the role of Construction Manager. Tony’s expertise and contribution were instrumental in the company’s growth. In 2005, Tim Hendy and Tony Bryan took over as the new owners of AUSMAR, marking the beginning of a new phase of expansion. The company was already building approximately 40 homes per year.

2006-2010: Rebranding and Office Openings Recognizing the need to adapt to the evolving market, AUSMAR underwent a rebranding in 2006. This strategic move was followed by rapid success, with the business expanding to 15 staff members. AUSMAR opened its second-ever display home in Peregian Springs, which went on to win the prestigious “Best Home for QLD Living” award. The company also opened a new office in Caloundra to cater to the growing demand on the southern end of the Sunshine Coast.

2012-2014: Business Units and Continued Growth In 2012, AUSMAR introduced six different business units, each specializing in specific areas of the construction process. This customer-focused approach proved successful, leading to further growth and expansion. The company spread its operations into Brisbane, Newcastle, Canberra, and the Gold Coast, building approximately 300 homes per year.

2015-Present: Awards and Continued Success AUSMAR has continued to thrive and receive recognition for its commitment to excellence. The company has consistently won awards, demonstrating its industry-leading standards. Notable achievements include being named the HIA Professional Builder of the Year and winning multiple categories such as Energy Efficient Home of the Year, Display Home of the Year, and Custom Home of the Year.
