A HOME THAT LOOKS LIKE A MODERN ART GALLERY

A HOME THAT
LOOKS LIKE A
MODERN ART
GALLERY

Joshua Reilly and Grant Blake are a couple who built their first home and transformed it into a stunning work of art. The house has a modern gallery feel, thanks to Josh’s background as an interior designer and his inspiration from Morag Myerscough. Although they purchased a small block of land, the couple found the perfect home design with AUSMAR called The Brooklyn. The floorplan met all their needs, including having the master bedroom towards the back of the home to minimise noise from the road, lots of light, and an island bench with direct access to the backyard.

HOME DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS

The couple also appreciated the convenience of having the driveway and laundry accessible from both the garage and kitchen. Having a separate laundry was important to Josh, as he uses his garage as his studio and workshop. The home’s exterior reflects the couple’s love for coastal living, with a white weatherboard look that is common in beachside communities. They added a playful touch with a bright pink door that creates a warm and welcoming entrance.
