WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar volume residential housing role within the Custom Homes sector, working on projects valued up to $2 million.
  • Experience in the use of estimating software is critical, with experience in Databuild being highly advantageous.
  • A demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office at an intermediate level.
  • Previous experience with interpretating contract and construction documentation (e.g. building specifications, building plans, colour selection documents, product technical information, and Building Certifier Approvals (Decision Notices, Stamped Plans, etc).
  • A demonstrated understanding of job budgeting and cost management is highly desirable.
  • Any building/carpentry/trade experience or knowledge is advantageous.
  • The ability to work exceptionally well in a team environment and contribute to achieve project goals; and
  • A great attitude!

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Custom Homes Building Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing timely and accurate sales estimates to support the Sales Manager with client costings.
  • Preparing accurate off-the-plan new home tenders using standard take-offs and trade quotes, in close collaboration with the Sales Manager to meet budget targets and with the Building Manager to ensure buildability."
  • Prepare and send purchase orders for all elements of the build using estimating software tools (Databuild / Planswift).
  • Reconcile invoices daily against Purchase Order values as required through online portal (Filebound).
  • Prepare construction documentation, including job-specific construction specifications ready for building.
  • Assist in pricing colour selections and variations (pre and during construction) as required, including working closely with supervisors and CLOs to ensure these items are communicated clearly and within contractual timeframes.
  • Manage job budgeting and profit forecasting for each job using the nominated estimating software (Databuild).
  • Assist with the maintenance of template Bills of Quantities (BOQ’s) for standard designs as required.
  • Manage time effectively and efficiently to ensure all tasks are completed and deadlines are met.
  • Assist the administrative team members with management of trade communications via nominated online communication platforms.
  • Action and document all cost overruns on jobs in consultation with the relevant Construction Supervisor using the nominated online construction portal.
  • Identify issues and discrepancies in construction documentation to the Building Manager for delegation/rectification as required.
  • Problem solve by identifying issues arising due to visual, construction or designer restraints.
  • Respond to critical needs as identified by the Workflow team.
  • Interact with multiple internal stakeholders including, sales, draftspersons, colour selection consultants, construction team members and client liaison teams.
  • Check every job prior to issuing to ensure AUSMAR and Project standards and covenants are adhered to.
  • Ensure systems and data recording are continually updated to reflect the jobs progress within our workflow.

AUSMAR’S head office and showroom are based in Maroochydore, with on-site parking (if you're quick!).

OFFICE HOURS

  • Monday to Thursday | 7:30am to 4.30pm
  • Friday | 7:30am to 12:30pm
