Custom Production Estimator

WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

At AUSMAR, we are always looking for talented and experienced people to join our growing team. We are seeking an experienced Custom Production Estimator to join our dedicated Custom Homes team and play a key role in the successful delivery of approximately 20 large-scale Custom homes each year.

About the Role

This is a hands-on role for someone who knows Custom Homes, is highly experienced with Databuild, and can hit the ground running. You’ll work closely with Contract Estimators, Site Supervisors, trades, suppliers and internal teams to manage purchasing, costs, variations and day-to-day requirements throughout the build.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage estimating, purchasing and cost control across Custom homes.
  • Produce and manage purchase orders using Databuild and Planswift.
  • Manage ETSs, variations, colour selections and day-to-day construction orders.
  • Balance Provisional Sum items and monitor job costs and budgets.
  • Prepare complex construction specifications and job-specific documentation.
  • Work closely with Site Supervisors, trades, suppliers and Contract Estimators.
  • Identify discrepancies, cost overruns and construction issues and proactively resolve them.
  • Maintain accurate job costing, systems and workflow information.

REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for someone who:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Custom residential estimating.
  • Extensive, current Databuild experience – essential.
  • Proven experience producing purchase orders and managing costs on large Custom homes.
  • Experience managing approximately 15–20+ Custom homes per year.
  • Strong understanding of construction documentation, specifications and plans.
  • Experience with ETSs, variations, Provisional Sums and job cost management.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to think on your feet.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Currently living on the Sunshine Coast.
  • A great attitude and genuine commitment to working as part of a team.

AUSMAR’S head office and showroom are based in Maroochydore, with on-site parking (if you're quick!).

OFFICE HOURS

  • Monday to Thursday | 7:30am to 4.30pm
  • Friday | 7:30am to 12:30pm
