Here’s what you can expect throughout the knock down rebuild process with AUSMAR.

Step 1: Initial Consultation and Site Assessment

Every knock down rebuild journey begins with an initial consultation and complimentary site assessment.

Our team will review your block’s dimensions, planning requirements, setbacks, slope, orientation, existing services, easements, drainage and construction access. We’ll also identify any flood, acoustic or site-specific requirements that could influence your project.

Completing this assessment before locking in a home design helps ensure your chosen design is suitable for both your land and lifestyle.

Step 2: Home Design and Preliminary Assessments

Once we understand your block, we’ll help you select a home design that makes the most of your site and supports the way you want to live.

Relevant preliminary investigations will also be completed or reviewed. These may include an up-to-date property identification survey, planning checks and other site-specific assessments required before your plans can progress.

Step 3: Proposal and Contract

With your preferred home design selected, we’ll prepare your preliminary plans and a transparent proposal outlining the scope and pricing of your new home.

As your plans are refined, our team will guide you through the contract process. Your plans, specifications, pricing and inclusions will be finalised before construction begins, helping you move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

Step 4: Personalise Your New Home

One of the biggest advantages of a knock down rebuild is the opportunity to create a home that reflects your lifestyle and personal style.

During your colour selection appointment at the AUSMAR Atelier Design Studio, you’ll work with our design team to choose your exterior colours, flooring, cabinetry, tiles, fixtures and finishes.

With everything available in one location, you can see how the different elements of your home will work together before construction begins.

Step 5: Approvals, Demolition and Site Preparation

Once your plans, contract and finance are finalised, AUSMAR will manage the building approval process while you arrange demolition through a licensed and insured contractor.

Before demolition begins, existing services must be disconnected and any necessary asbestos inspections, removal requirements and demolition clearances addressed. Depending on your property’s location and access, traffic management may also be required.

Once the existing home has been removed and the block cleared, the site can be prepared for construction.

Step 6: Construction Begins

With approvals complete and the site ready, construction of your new home can begin.

Your Site Supervisor will oversee each stage of the build, while your Construction Client Liaison Officer will keep you informed of progress. You’ll also have opportunities to visit your home at key milestones and ask questions throughout the journey.

Step 7: Handover and Aftercare

The final stage is the most rewarding, receiving the keys to your brand-new home.

Before handover, you’ll complete a Practical Completion Inspection and finalise the remaining documentation. Once everything is complete, it’s time to move in and begin enjoying your new home.

Support doesn’t end at handover. The AUSMAR After Care team will remain available after you move in, including supporting you through AUSMAR’s 12-month warranty inspection.
