WISHLIST HOUSE

Ausmar Homes recognises that its business has flourished on the Sunshine Coast because of the support it has received from its local suppliers, staff, and clients. The Ausmar directors have always been adamant that they give back to the community that has helped build their business.

Wishlist House is a great example of this commitment.

In 2011 Ausmar Homes agreed to come on board to support this project developed to raise funds to provide a comprehensive ophthalmology service to the Sunshine Coast District that extends from Beerwah to north of Gympie. With generous support and contributions from the Coast community, Ausmar built a home at no charge on land that was supplied at a discount from Stocklands in the Brightwater estate. The sale of this quality home far exceeded Wishlist’s expectations providing the funding to acquire the ophthalmic investigative and treatment equipment. This equipment will enable the public health service to provide a contemporary/modern eye service which will have the potential for future growth and teaching within our District.

The lucky new owners of this home were Mr. and Mrs. Bob Goodwin who had fallen in love with the home long before it was built. “We had been here when it was just a block and we just knew this was going to be where our new home would be built. We were first through during the first open home and we went through at least 40 times afterward. We loved it from the moment we saw it, and now it is ours.”

Ausmar Homes was humbled to be a part of such a rewarding project and thanks to everyone for their contributions. Wishlist House is a great example of how we can make a big difference to many people in our community living with poor vision.
